USB IR receiver

In a previous post i've explain AVRlirc (by Paul Fox) configuration. Here is a little hack getting it to work with USB, giving a simple USB IR receiver.

There's not so much to say. I just get +5V directly from the USB cable just before the adapter. After connecting i get a nice /dev/ttyUSB* that's can be used with avrlirc2udp. Very useful for slideshow with my new ThinkPad x31. Oh yes, x31 have built-in IR receiver supported by Lirc but it is too weak. AVR device is much more powerful, even with little remote like this :
